Today I found red
1
Today I ignored ambient light because I wanted definition and contrast back first. And as a consequence discovered there is a limit how far you can raise shadows on MFT (yeah FF is better for that, we know). Still I think these came out promising.
Thanks for looking and feedback!

very nice, i think pic 3 of the ladybird and 3 of the beetle are best
what is the ladybird on? looks grass like but colourful
and what beetle is that, the back looks different to lily beetles yet it looks very similar. I do like its back
PS, I was watching a movie last night (bullet train, well worth watching) and they mentioned ladybird is called Tentou-mushi in Japan, that might come in handy.

You sure did find red. I always like the colorful bugs the best. I also like pics 1,4 and 5. The side and front of the ladybug are really good. It has been hard for me to get the face of one.
That first pic of the beetle the way you have it composed is nice and the colors look good on all of them.

Yes, it's grassy but also like stalks of wheat, with a purple/green colors.

Yes I think this is the black headed cardinal beetle, I've shot it in previous years too. Very alive and running around.

I'll park that knowledge for the time being. Might it become urgent then there is still Google
